Amazon.com has just added a new IR capability to its shopping app that could dramatically change online purchasing from smartphones. The tool is appropriately called ‘Flow’ and seamlessly allows shoppers to identify and purchase products with their camera-equipped phone.

First Things First

Nearly 500 designers, programmers, and creative technologists have signed their names to a fiery ‘First things First’ manifesto, which was created last month to provoke a re-examination of digital workers and their contributions to society. This plea toward a greater sense of ethics and social responsibility has come out of frustrations that the tech industry is steering too much toward ‘surveillance and frivolity’.
