INSIDER TIPS: Preparing for a Blippar job interview
It’s a competitive job market out there, particularly when it comes to nabbing a role at a company as forward-thinking, market-leading and, frankly, awesome as Blippar.
So if your CV impresses us and you make it to the first telephone interview stage, you should aim to sparkle brighter than the hundreds of other people vying for each role. There are some easy ways to do this, and we’ve outlined our favourites below.
Of course, the main one is to do your research. But then, you wouldn’t have found this blog if you hadn’t done that, so you’re already halfway there….
1. Learn about Blippar:
Think about what we do here, but not just by glancing at our website. Read around to see what we’ve been up to since 2011; research campaigns we’ve worked on with clients; think about our user base and media partners, and get an idea of what people have been saying about us.
2. Download the Blippar app:
Play with it. A lot. Blipp real-life products we've made blippable, affiliated magazines and newspapers, and the images within our app catalogue. Suggest ways we could improve the user experience. Consider which are your favourite blipps, why, and which you think could be improved. Have some suggestions for how you would do this.
3. Think about augmented reality:
Be prepared to talk about why you find augmented reality and image-recognition exciting, and how you see it impacting upon the future. Where do you think the technology is going? What is your opinion on wearables?
4. Consider our competitors:
Who would you say are our main rivals? How do we all compare? What are we doing differently to them? What are their best features, and why?
5. Which are your favourite brands?
How would you design an augmented reality marketing campaign for them? What sort of blipps would work well for them, and where would you place them? Talk us through how you would build/design/market/PR these blipps.
Just remember: the better prepared you are, the more we’ll have to talk about.
Good luck!
