Build a blippable magazine in one day? OK! Blippar at The Drum Live
Blippar was delighted to be a part of The Drum Live last week, an extraordinary event at which all contributors for The Drum magazine came together to build a complete issue in just one day... entirely from scratch.
The plan was ambitious, but Team Blippar was on hand - armed with our DIY platform Blippbuilder - creating blipps at a rate of knots to ensure every single idea pumped out of this content hub could then be brought to digital life on a smartphone or tablet straight off the final issue.
We had a fantastic presence at the event, with a wonderful orange stand situated right at the entrance - complete with a plasma screen showing the latest and greatest Blippar campaigns.
But Blippar also had another, more direct part to play over on the other side off the room: on display were 25 of the best international advertising campaigns released over the last few months.
Keen to showcase and honour the marketing industry's finest projects, The Drum decided to feature the top three campaigns in their live issue.
So with the help of a few oversized boards, some Velcro and loads of blipps, event attendees could blipp each campaign to vote for their favorite, while also receiving more information about The Drum and accessing their social sites directly on their phones.
Meanwhile, throughout the day a crack team of Blippar videographers and photographers filmed and took photos of everything, from all the stands to each of the talks.
With the footage shot, the guys then had the challenge of editing it all in only a couple of hours before the Blippbuilder team created a blipp to be demoed live on stage by our Marketing Opportunities Director Stephen Shaw.
It was a tough job and time ticked away fast, but both teams managed to get everything edited and live in time to wow the crowd and show how quickly and simply printed content can be brought to life using our DIY platform Blippbuilder.
The day ended in the very best of ways: with champagne, beer and canapes. The added bonus was that the beer provided was Meantime, whose bottles are all blippable. What luck!
