Fancy a FRIGHT? As Above So Below movie blipp reveals terrifying trailer

Set in the dark, damp, dingy catacombs beneath Paris - and directed by John Erick Dowdle - As Above So Below is a ‘found footage’ horror film in the style of The Blair Witch Project.

Starting Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman and Edwin Hodge as explorers, the narrative follows the trio as they move about beneath the streets of the French capital haunted by visions from their individual pasts.

To build hype and awareness in the run-up to the 29 August cinema release of the film, distributors NBC Universal approached Blippar, via Mediacom, with a brief to make the poster interactive.

Blipping the movie’s distinctive red and black publicity poster of an upside-down Eiffel Tower now launches the movie’s terrifying trailer with a scary frame of animated skulls.

Some 350 blippable banners have gone into the UK’s top 200 cinemas, and 2000 blippable roadside posters have gone up in key cities across the country. There will also be six blippable press ads in the first week of the film’s release.

NBC Universal has used Blippar before on other film projects, including the DVDs of Despicable Me 2, The Fast and The Furious, and Oblivion.

The film is on general release on 29 August.
