Brand Week: Turkey's most important Marketing event goes interactive

Last week Istanbul was host to one key event in the marketing industry, bringing together major names in technology, digital, marketing and communications: BrandWeek Istanbul 2014.

On the course of 5 days, the stages of BrandWeek have hosted speakers the likes of Frank Cooper, David Aaker, Sir John Hegarty and Martha Stewart. The event included exhibitions, competitions, screening and workshops.

In order to make the experience more engaging and informative for the participants, the sponsor company, MediaCat, collaborated with Blippar to make the cover of the BrandWeek Issue of MediaCat Magazine and badges into interactive portals.

The cover of the magazine was designed by a renowned cartoonist, were blippable, allowing participants to unlock interactive content such as a short video about the conference and social media links.

The event badges were able to unlock content in two stages: first stage before the conference, showcasing an opening animation and the second stage during the event containing both useful and entertaining features such as an event program, social sharing links, an event infographic and a photo gallery.

The attendees were asked to share their thoughts about the experience on social media in a competition. Writers of the 3 most popular tweets were rewarded with 3D printed sculptures of themselves.

Amongst the influential speakers at the event, Frank Cooper, PepsiCo CMO, spoke about Pepsi’s successful campaign in 2014 and showed the case study video of Pepsi Pek Yakında Campaign, which also featured Pepsi Pek Yakında blipp & Blippar. It was a great testimony to the success of our partnership.’ commented Zehra Oney, Blippar Turkey’s Managing Director.

Blippar also had a booth at the event, which was a great way to present Blippar to attendees and also do our famous Google Glass demo.
