This holiday season, team up with Blippar, the world’s leading visual browser, to create a one-of-a kind augmented reality holiday card for the upcoming holiday season. This contest is open to everyone, everywhere - whether you’re a creative, a developer, or just someone that loves making cool things. You can enter this contest just by yourself, or team up with someone.

This card will be sent to some of the most well-known brands, agencies, publications and journalists in the world - we are talking thousands of cards sent to contacts in 4 continents. So this is a unique opportunity to show off your talent to some pretty cool people.
How? Simply use Blippar’s self service suite of tools to design an INTERACTIVE HOLIDAY CARD that triggers an augmented reality experience. If your idea wins, we hope to have it turned into our 2016 holiday card and share it with the world! Your name will be featured in each of the cards and your picture and a write-up about your work will be on our blog. Your card will also be a featured in our social media with a shout out to you. We all think we know the holiday season but there’s always something new to discover. Maybe it’s a tradition with a backstory which you didn’t know. Maybe it’s finding a surprise in a part of holiday season which you thought you were familiar with. Maybe it’s the feeling of true surprise and delight when someone gives you a great gift you really didn’t expect. Whatever the angle, we want to help the world see that there’s more to the holiday season than meets the eye. The holiday cards you design and AR experience you build should follow this theme.
What do you need to do?

Tools to be used

The blipp has to be made using Blippar’s self-service suite of tools - Blippbuilder or Blippbuilder Script. Simply sign up, log in and start building! There are number of tutorials available for these online so you’ll have all the help you need along the way.

Terms and Conditions
A : Participants
1. This contest is open to any person that completes steps set out in paragraph 4 of these Terms and Conditions and complies with all of the terms and conditions of entry.
3. Entry into the contest is open from is from 12:00 midnight (Greenwich Mean Time) on 07.11.2016 to 12.00 midnight on 04.12.2016 (Greenwich Mean Time) (the “Closing Date”).
4. To enter the contest, each participant must:
4.1 : Design the layout of the holiday card AND build the blipp that will get triggered off the card
4.2 : Use the Blippar self-service tools (Blippbuilder or Blippbuilder Script) to build the blipp, which will be subject to Blippar’s terms and conditions of use.
4.3 : Only submit one entry into the contest and where multiple entries are submitted only the first that is submitted will be considered
4.4 : The contest is open to residents of all countries that it is launched in except where it would be illegal or contrary to local laws or regulations; employees or relatives of employees of Blippar are excluded from entering the competition.
5. All valid entries will be entered into the competition
6. Blippar.Com Limited, 5th Floor West, 1 London Bridge, Southwark, London, SE1 (“Blippar”) does not accept any responsibility for entries lost, damaged, corrupted, incomplete, incorrectly submitted or delayed due whether due to error, omission, technical problems or otherwise.
7. Blippar reserves the right to disqualify any participant that does not provide their correct details for the contest, fulfill the entry requirements as set out in these terms and conditions or who in Blippar’s reasonable opinion is acting fraudulently or in breach of the competition terms.
8. The contest will be judged by a panel comprising of the employees of Blippar. The winner of the contest will be selected by the panel from all valid entries received in respect of the competition on 04.12.2016
9. The winner will be contacted by Blippar on, or before, 07.12.2016 by email. If the winner does not respond to Blippar within 48 hours of receiving the email Blippar reserves the right to declare a new winner.
B : The Prize
10. There will be a single winner and one prize of US $2000; entrants should ensure that the are able to receive the award by bank transfer from Blippar.
11. In the event of unforeseen circumstances Blippar reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
12. Blippar accepts no responsibility for any technical issues, system or software failures encountered on the Blippar platform, or any other technology platform or during entry into the competition. Blippar tries to ensure that the standard of the platform remains high but cannot be held responsible for any interruptions of service. Blippar reserves the right to suspend temporarily the operation of the platform without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for any other reason beyond its control.
13. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to hold Blippar and its affiliates harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of the award of, the use, misuse or redemption of any prize. Where the law implies warranties, which cannot be excluded, Blippar’s liability for breach of those warranties is limited to resupplying the prize (or paying for the costs thereof), where this is permitted by law. Except as prohibited in accordance with applicable mandatory local laws including, without limitation, liability for death or personal injury (as applicable), each winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused by participation in this competition or use or redemption of any prize.
14. In the event of breach of security and also fraud, Blippar reserves the right to cancel or suspend the prize or to exclude an entrant from the competition.
15. Blippar's decision is final in every situation including any not covered above and no correspondence will be entered into in respect of the contest.
C : General
16. By entering the prize draw participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the terms and conditions which will be interpreted in accordance with English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
D : Privacy Policy
18. Data Controller – Blippar is the Data Controller in relation to processing Personal Data of the participants to the contest, as such terms are defined by the Data Protection Act 1998.
19. Purposes for processing personal data - Blippar collects the personal data of the winner exclusively for the purposes of organising the management of the contest and communicating with the winner in relation to the contest. Personal data provided by the winner shall only be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy. As permitted in accordance with applicable laws, by entering the free prize draw, the participants agree that their data may be used to contact the winner of the prize draw.
20. Consent - By providing personal data to Blippar, the winner is consenting to use of their Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
21. Retention of data - Blippar will not keep Personal Data relating to the winner for longer than is necessary for the purposes determined above. Data relating to winner will be retained by Blippar for a reasonable period after the free prize draw finishes to assist Blippar in operating the free prize draw in a consistent manner and to deal with any queries relating to the free prize draw.
22. Security of personal data – Blippar has implemented technology and policies with the objective of protecting your privacy from unauthorised access and improper use and will update these measures as new technology becomes available, as appropriate.
23. Each participant hereby grants to Blippar an exclusive irrevocable royalty free licence in perpetuity in respect of any and all design, work and materials (Work) that it may submit in respect of this competition for the purposes of Blippar reviewing and publishing the Work in respect of its 2016 seasonal card for clients and such other purposes as it may choose (including the right to edit and amend such Work, in Blippar’s sole discretion) and the participant warrants that any Work that it submits shall be owned or licensed by it and not infringe the rights (including the intellectual property rights) of any third party and nor will such Work contain any Trojan horses, malware, viruses or otherwise.
24. Blippar shall in its absolute discretion decide whether it shall include any winning or other design on its seasonal greetings card and shall for the avoidance of doubt be under no obligation to publish a Work and shall be free to edit or amend any design for its own use.
25. In the event that you entry is selected as the winning entry you agree that you will not publish or otherwise use your winning entry.
