Introducing our updated augmented reality SDK
In our commitment to harnessing the transformative potential of augmented reality, we are delighted to announce our new improved Augmented Reality Software Development Kit (AR SDK). Our SDK enables any business to integrate the technology into its own apps and take advantage of the wealth of benefits AR brings for consumers and businesses alike.
The release of our new improved AR SDK is the next step in Blippar’s creation of the most complete and flexible augmented reality ecosystem for our clients, developers and anyone interested in AR. Our suite of best in class technologies and tools allow businesses to integrate our recognition engines, create augmented reality content and publish AR to their own apps (via the SDK), to the Blippar app or to browsers and banner ads via our AR digital banner ad solution - ARDP.
Blippar’s Augmented Reality SDK has already been integrated into apps created by our long-term partners. For example Milo (Nestle) and its agency, Ogilvy, have integrated the SDK into the Milo Champions app across SEA and ANZ, this enables them to engage consumers with AR experiences triggered from their product packaging and advertising. Our AR SDK allows businesses to use any kind of AR content within their own apps to provide unrivalled customer experience for their users. Together with our clients and agency partners, we are using augmented reality to transform how users interact with brands and the world around them. Whether that’s virtual try-ons, tutorials on how best to use a product, augmented reality sales aids, product visualization, gamification and so much more.
The augmented reality SDK is a complete AR toolkit that gives businesses complete control over content and design ensuring the user interface and experience are fully customised to fit with their brand.
Some of the exciting new features that the SDK includes are:
-
The ability to personalise the AR experience for each app user -- for instance you could show a different experience dependent on the user’s location, operating system or profile settings
-
Increased and unrivalled 3D functionality, both in terms of content and tracking
-
Support of both front and back facing cameras, to allow selfie experiences
-
Simpler SDK integration with third-party apps
-
More control with increased configuration options and greater feedback during the AR playback
Other key features include:
-
Multiple programming language support for both major mobile platforms: iOS (objective C and SWIFT) and Android (Java and Kotlin).
-
The SDK can detect multiple types of marker -- including curved and flat
-
Multiple types of image recognition, including barcode, all in one simple scanner.
The thousands of augmented reality campaigns built on our platforms over the past six years have shaped our AR ecosystem. Our ecosystem provides the most complete AR offering and the flexibility required for anybody to harness this technology’s full potential.
We can build a custom augmented reality experience to be integrated within a third party app, or provide anyone -- developers, agencies or brands -- with the tools to do it yourself alongside our support services. This technology can benefit any business across any industry, including entertainment, pharma, retail, publishing, events, highly regulated industries (e.g. finance & government) and the automotive industry. Blippar is here to support every step of the way.
