Ambarish Mitra, Blippar CEO will appear on Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s show “TED Talks India Nayi Soch”
Blippar CEO Ambarish Mitra will appear on the “TED Talks India Nayi Soch” show in India this Sunday January 14th to explore the empowering potential of computer vision.
This is the first foreign television series created by TED -- the media organisation renowned for its viral “TED Talks”. Hosted by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, the show has attracted up to 60 million viewers to date. Each episode features an inspiring speaker who is at the forefront of an emerging trend or new idea -- a previous guest includes Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Ambarish will discuss the potential for computer vision -- a field of artificial intelligence -- to improve people’s lives. He will cover topics including how computer vision can empower more than 750 million people globally who cannot read or write, and how our curiosity is bigger than our vocabulary.
Ambarish commented: “This show is helping Indians think about the world around them in a completely different way, in particular how diverse ideas can interrelate and create something brand-new. It highlights how successful ideas demand not only technical excellence, but a willingness to be creative and challenge convention. I hope that this show inspires the next generation of Indians to explore opportunities and careers that they may not have known ever existed, to dream big and ultimately create a better tomorrow”.
Shah Rukh Khan commented: “This is one of my favorite places for inspiration and ideas, to understand the world around me - and to understand myself too. As the host of TED Talks India: Nayi Soch, I've pulled together a wonderful program of speakers - scientists, business leaders, artists and more - in the TED tradition to share with you.”
The show will air on Star Plus TV, India on Sunday 14th January at 7pm IST, and on Sky in the UK at 7pm GMT. Follow it on Twitter via #TedTalksIndiaNayiSoch to find out more about the show.
