Mobilise your imagination! Blippar Education launches community initiative
Chantal Pinkham, above, is Blippar’s Education Community Projects Lead, responsible for leading cross-cultural, dynamic projects. Today she launches a multimedia initiative asking educators, charities, cultural institutions and community groups to answer the question ‘What does community mean to you?’ through interactive mobile blipps. Participants will be given free access to our hi-tech blipp-creation software, Blippbuilder, enabling them to turn images and objects into interactive digital experiences for the whole world to access via our free mobile app.
The Future Of Creativity
Developments in technology constantly reinvent the way we interact with the world, giving our creativity ever more exciting tools to play with - but are we using these fully?
The rise of smartphones has reinvented our lives, improving communication and giving us instant access to enormous quantities of information. But mobiles hold the potential to do so much more. The interactive mobile experiences we build at Blippar – blipps - are terrific examples of how creativity and technology can work together to create truly magical, modern, out-of-this-world experiences.
Blipps can turn a photograph into a song, a mural into a dance, a painting into a mobile game, a page in a book into a video of a theatrical performance. And so much more.
We want blipps to help people realise their full creative potential, and then enable them to share it with the world.

We Need You!
Today we launch an exciting initiative encouraging creative empowerment through the use of our awesome, hi-tech augmented reality tools.
‘Mobilising Imagination’ is about you expressing yourself through multi-media, multi-dimensional, multi-reality mobile experiences: blipps. We want you to use Blippar to build blipps that reflect your imagination, experience and surroundings.
Maybe you want to turn a painting into an animation, or bring a piece of graffiti to life through dance, or turn a printed play into stage performance. With Blippar you can do all this.
We will give participants free access to our online DIY blipp-creation tool Blippbuilder, enabling you to pack your artworks, images, posters, books and other objects with exciting, multimedia experiences using seriously futuristic augmented reality and image-recognition technologies. People then access these experiences simply by looking at your ‘trigger images’ through our free mobile app.
We want you to reinvent your physical spatial boundaries by layering augmented reality on top of the finite structures that we live in.

Creative Communities
So the big question is: What does community mean to you?
Don’t just look up ‘community’ in the dictionary. Define the word for yourself, whether it means eating lunch with your friends, putting on a performance of a play in the local park, or an impromptu musical collaboration with strangers.
Let your creativity out to play; utilise performance and visual arts to show us what community is for you.
